150 Kg is the maximum permitted additional weight on the chassis, it is different to a towbar (hitch in US) weight limit where the load is on a single point. US regulations are also very very different to here in Europe.

@@aguyinback Actually a class 2 hitch is only 350 tongue weight. Remember with a trailer the when you bouncing the trailer and tongue hand the weight. With just a cargo mounted in to the hitch all the bouncing is on the hitch. 300 pounds on the hitch dead load turns in to 1,000 pound live load when you start to bounce it.

The new Towmaster 2 has been redesigned and does not use threads, it has been FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tested, and 2 million cycle push pull fatigue tested, and is made by Roadmaster - the biggest towcar a frame manufacturer in the USA, I think they know what they are doing as they make 1000's per month. However the invisibrake is progressive. so the longer and harder the towing vehicles brake is pressed, the longer and harder the towbars brake is pressed. The pressure steadily builds until it reaches its maximum. This stops the towcar skidding and means that if only braking lightly and briefly then the towbars pedal force is only light and brief. and provides for balanced braking behind the towing vehicle.
